HR managers, owners and accountants finalizing an employee's end-of-service payout

Understanding End-of-Service Estimates in WatheeqaHR

WatheeqaHR calculates an end-of-service figure automatically based on the employee's company country, join date, and final salary. Each country follows its own law: UAE Federal Decree-Law 33/2021 (Articles 51 and 67), Bahrain Labour Law 36/2012 (Article 116) with Prime Minister's Resolution 109/2023, Oman Royal Decree 53/2023 (Article 61), Saudi Labor Law (Articles 84-85) and Qatar Labour Law 14/2004 (Article 54) — each implemented from the published text of the law — and Kuwait Labour Law 6/2010 (Articles 51-53). Review the employment contract and separation details before paying.

Steps

  1. Open the employee's profile

Go to Employees and select the employee whose end-of-service you need to calculate.

  2. Check the country the calculation follows

The formula used is determined by the employee's company country, shown on the profile and on the calculation itself.

  3. Review the calculation breakdown

WatheeqaHR shows the formula components (years of service, applicable salary base, and the country-specific rate tiers) rather than just a final number.

  4. Confirm before final settlement

Review the employment contract and separation details before paying. Confirm the amount with your HR team or accountant before including it in the final settlement.

Frequently asked questions

Is the end-of-service calculation final?
It follows the law of the company's country, with the article cited for each (see above). Final entitlement can still depend on the contract, the reason for separation and any excluded periods, so review the employment contract and separation details before paying. WatheeqaHR is not a legal advisor.
How does Bahrain's end-of-service work after March 2024?
WatheeqaHR calculates it per Labour Law 36/2012, Article 116, from the official text. From 1 March 2024, under Prime Minister's Resolution 109/2023, the Social Insurance Organization (SIO) pays non-Bahrainis' end-of-service for later service, and WatheeqaHR shows the employer and SIO parts separately.
Does Qatar have a statutory contribution like the others?
No. Qatar's GRSIA scheme applies only to Qatari and GCC-national employees and is not modeled in WatheeqaHR — no statutory-contribution figure is shown for Qatar.
Can I rely on the figure for legal or tax reporting?
Review the employment contract and separation details first. WatheeqaHR calculates from the law and published rates for your own records; it is not a legal or tax advisor and files nothing with any authority.
