Suprema BioStar 2 Attendance Excel Export: Headers

A BioStar 2 event or time-and-attendance export is a log of events, not only of attendance. The header shape our tests cover is User ID, Name, Datetime, Device, Event. WatheeqaHR reads User ID as the employee ID, Datetime as the full punch time and Event as the direction, and it recognises T&A In and T&A Out. Because a raw log can mix event kinds, an unknown Event value refuses the file.

Suprema: header shape, what WatheeqaHR reads and pitfalls

  1. The header shape our tests cover

The automated tests resolve this header row: User ID, Name, Datetime, Device, Event, with User ID as the employee ID. Export the BioStar 2 event or time-and-attendance report as Excel or CSV.

  2. What WatheeqaHR reads from it

User ID is the employee ID and Name the employee name. Datetime is the combined date and time, so no separate Date column is required. Event is read as the direction, and T&A In and T&A Out are recognised alongside in, out, check in, check out and the other known codes. Device is not read.

  3. Pitfall: a raw event log with other events

Event values are checked against the known in and out codes. A value that is neither, such as another kind of access event, refuses the file with 'Unknown punch-direction codes'. If your BioStar report lets you limit it to attendance events, do that and export again.

  4. Pitfall: Access Result

If the file has an Access Result column, only granted, allowed, success and successful rows are counted, ignoring case. Failed and blank rows are dropped before the totals, so an employee with only failed attempts looks absent.

  5. Before you upload

Use the original export, one month at a time and under 5 MB. In the preview check that the export has User ID and Event columns. If Event holds only verification methods the column is ignored and first and last punch decide direction.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a Suprema BioStar 2 report to Excel?

Export the event or time-and-attendance report from BioStar 2 as Excel or CSV, then upload it to the free analyzer. WatheeqaHR reads the file and does not connect to the device.

Are T&A In and T&A Out supported?

Yes. They are recognised as the in and out values of the Event column.

Why was my BioStar file refused?

Most often the Event column holds a value that is not a known in or out code. Narrow the export to attendance events and try again.

Do failed door events count as attendance?

No. If the file has an Access Result column, only granted, allowed, success and successful rows are counted.

Is this a Suprema compatibility guarantee?

No. This page describes the header shape our tests use. Test your real file.
